SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc. recently hosted a social reception in anticipation of the 2020 Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest, bringing trustees, sponsors and supporters together to commence another season of spirited philanthropy. The cocktail reception was hosted by trustees Ray and Jessica Higdon at their home in Miromar Lakes. Event chairs Brooke Denson and Sandy Stilwell-Youngquist kicked off the evening with this year’s theme, “Painting a Difference – Putting Kids First,” and featured a preview of the beneficiaries, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida SouthWestsern State College. Chief Administration Officer Armando Llechu shared a recent story of impact with the attendees and so did Community Affairs System Director for Lee Health, Stephanie Wardein, sharing her son, Benedict’s story with Golisano Children’s Hospital. Celebrating its 12th year, the two-day Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest will feature Chef Vintner Dinners on Friday, Feb. 21, creatively hosted in private luxury homes across the region, and the Grand Tasting and Live Auction on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs. Guests will experience artful cuisine created by celebrated chefs and expertly paired with vintners from some of the finest and most exclusive wineries.
