Children’s Pediatric Services Grant – Now Closed.
SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc. has donated over $21 million to local charities over the past 10 years. Thanks to our generous supporters, we are the second largest donor to Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, and we also grant funds to Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida SouthWestern State College to provide scholarships and equipment to educate the community’s next generation of pediatric health care professionals.
As part of our mission to support the region’s growing pediatric health care system, we’ve expanded our grants program to include other non-profits to collectively receive a portion of the auction proceeds. If your organization promotes the health and wellness of children in Southwest Florida, you may be eligible! As of September 2018, this portion of the grants program is now closed.
With the success of the Fund-A-Cause for mental health a few years ago and the completion of the Golisano Children’s hospital, we are now hoping to affect major change in the mental and behavioral health arena in our region. A majority of the funds raised in the 2019 event will go to support pediatric mental and behavioral health.
Of course, we will continue to support students in pediatric healthcare programs at our local colleges and continuous needs at Golisano Children’s Hospital. New this year, we are also partnering with the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to handle the grant-making portion and work alongside non-profit organizations and encourage collaboration to hopefully affect bigger change. Grants will be funded based on proceeds from the 2020 Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest, our signature fundraising event.
