Chef Harold Balink
Harold is no stranger to the culinary scene nor to helping local charities. Harold started his culinary career more than 30 years after his plans fell through to play football in college.
His generosity of spirit and talent as a chef has earned many loyal followers. He has appeared as a cook at too many charity events to name. He has been at the forefront of culinary trends with his creative, farm-to-table approach and ever-changing menu and is known for being able to pair the perfect wine because he is also trained as a Sommelier.
Chef Balink, grew up in Broomfield, Colorado. (near Boulder). He earned a degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University, a bachelor’s in hotel restaurant management from Boston University, and an Advanced Level Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
He completed apprenticeships at Le Cirque in New York City, the Flagstaff House in Colorado, and The Greenbrier in West Virginia. His 30-plus year career in Southwest Florida includes positions at South Seas Plantation, The Magnolia House, the Ocean Reef Club, Tetley’s, Harold’s on Bay, H2 and Cru.
