Over the weekend, professional artist, Rachel Pierce, also an anchor with NBC-2, met and helped Eleanor O’Neal, 1-years-old, and her 4-year-old brother, Conner, paint a canvas for the 2020 SWFL Wine & Food Fest. This year’s theme, Painting a Difference, led the inspiration for the artwork and also the cause of pediatric Ophthalmology. This year’s Fund-A-Cause will raise much needed funds for the SWFL Children’s Charities Eye Institute at Golisano Children’s Hospital.
“We are thrilled to play a part in giving the gift of sight to so many children in our area who desperately need services for vision impairments,” says Sandy Stilwell Youngquist, President of SWFL Children’s Charities. Currently, there is a 277-day waiting list for vision services in our region.
The original artwork will be hung at Golisano Children’s Hospital and copies will be auctioned off at the 2020 SWFL Wine & Food Fest on Feb. 22nd at Hyatt Regency Coconut Resort & Spa.
